State of the Week
State of the Week is an assignment each student will complete on their own. In class they will have the opportunity to pick a state to research and present. (Student names are drawn at random to pick their state). Since there are 50 states and we often have 38-40 students some students will have the opportunity to do a second state with a partner. (Student names are also drawn at random for a second state option but they get to pick their partner.) Once the students have picked a state we will assign each state a presentation date. We understand everyone has a busy schedule and we are willing to accommodate date changes if it is absolutely needed but we ask that you do your best to keep the date assigned. Students will receive a sheet with their due date and state name shortly after we make the schedule. A guideline sheet will
be sent home 3 to 4 weeks prior to their due date. Some students may need a little help researching the information but overall this should be an independent assignment to be completed AT HOME! The students will not be given time in class to complete this assignment so please plan accordingly!
